IOTW: Gestational Sac

Posted on: October 1, 2018, by :

This was a 17 yo F with abdominal pain and vomiting found to have a positive pregnancy test. Her POCUS showed a 6wk gestational sac but no yolk sac. An IUP can not be diagnosed without either a yolk sac or a fetal pole. By 6 weeks this should be visible. She was transferred to another facility where she had a medication induced termination of pregnancy.

The information in these cases has been changed to protect patient identity and confidentiality. The images are only provided for educational purposes and members agree not to download them, share them, or otherwise use them for any other purpose.
